If you won the lottery, would you go back to work tomorrow?

Be honest, you probably wouldn’t. I’d say that was the case for the majority of people. Would you agree?

Why do we go to work?

  • To pay bills

  • To feed our families

  • To keep a roof over our heads

  • To have a pension

  • To have nice things

  • To go on holidays

  • To keep ourselves busy

  • To have a purpose

  • To feel like we’re contributing

But if we had enough money in the bank, we could still achieve all this without the pressure of having to turn up to work every day.

So the real answer to why we go to work is most likely for MONEY.

This tells me that the majority of us are completely misaligned. We are operating in a World where we’re so busy striving for money that we dedicate a huge chunk of our waking lives to doing something that we don’t really want to do.

You’ll also find that the majority of people are misaligned in WHAT they do for work. There are so many people in this World with passions and interests in things that they can’t / don’t believe they can find jobs in. For example, there are thousands of people with degrees in Criminology. Yet only a very small percentage actually work in that field. So while these educated people are working entry level jobs just to make ends meet, there’s probably someone else working in Criminology who, if they won the lottery tomorrow, wouldn’t go back to work. From this small example, it’s easy to see how misaligned the World is. Perhaps this Criminologist has a passion for cake decorating…so I ask myself, why aren’t they doing that? Because currently they’re taking up a space for someone who actually wants the job and wouldn’t quit if they won the lottery.

Now you may be thinking that if we all followed our passions, then nothing would get done, because we’d all be busy cake decorating…but this simply isn’t true. For every creative passion, there’s someone who’s passionate about data entry, advanced mathematics or quantum physics. It’s just that most of these people are stuck in jobs outside of their field of interest.

I can tell you that when I win the lottery, I’m ABSOLUTELY going back to work to tomorrow! I left my corporate, misaligned job as a HR Manager and I took the big brave step to following my passions and desires. And let me tell you, I pay my bills, I feed my family, we have a roof over our heads, nice holidays…and so on.

How? Because when you’re doing something you love, you do whatever it takes to succeed. And it doesn’t ever feel like ‘work’. It feels like freedom, like a pleasure, like you’re winning every day.

Human Design massively helped me with this. I was doing it so wrong for so long, but since I’ve aligned myself with my true nature, I’m flourishing and so is my business.
